The Old World Trader is the area's only dealer of rare manuscripts and antiquities. On a daily basis, we make every effort to distinguish ourselves from antique and flea market shops. Below are some things that help make The Old World Trader unique.

• ACADEMIC SUPPORT: Part of our core mission is to enhance the teaching of arts and humanities in the area. A free lending program and a 10% discount are available for educators. We are always pleased to offer special presentations for classes, both at the shop and in the classroom. We periodically offer after-hours classes and support a variety of academic groups.

• INVENTORY: The bulk of our artifacts are hundreds of years old or older. Most of our manuscripts are at least two hundred years old. Our inventory is older than that of antique and flea market shops.

• KNOWLEDGE: We identify and clearly label the pieces that we sell. It is not up to you to guess about what things are.

• ACCOUNTABILITY: We guarantee authenticity and satisfaction on everything we sell. You do not have to worry that what you get may not be as it seems. If it is not, then you are entitled to a full refund or exchange (your choice).

• RESPECT: We encourage you to handle the merchandise. You cannot fully appreciate it without doing so. If you should accidentally damage it, we consider that a cost of doing business, and we do not expect you to buy it.

• APPEARANCE: The Old World Trader is neat, clean, and well-lighted. You will enjoy the experience. Many people compare it to a trip to the museum. Our shared floorplan with The Frame Shop Gallery give you even more to enjoy.

We are located across from Applebee's, inside The Frame Shop Gallery, at 410 South Bishop Ave, Rolla. Our hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 until 5:30, and Saturday from 9:00 until 5:00.
