RARE MAPS & MANUSCRIPTS:

Robert de Vaugondy Map of Asia, 1750There are lots of reasons to collect rare maps. A map from a particular period and place can be invaluable when placing events into proper historical contexts. Antique maps help people studying genealogy to better understand how, where, and why ancestors did certain things. They help historians better understand the rationales for historic events, and they even give us insight into how people viewed the world around them hundreds of years ago.

The Old World Trader offers a large variety of original maps spanning the last several hundred years. These include works by famous cartographers and mapmakers such as Blaeu, Munster, Mercator, Hondius, and others. There are also dozens of original maps from various wars spanning the last few hundred years. We also have a large selection of historic map reproductions for researchers and enthusiasts.

Our other manuscripts include rare botanicals, architectural prints, illuminated manuscripts, incunabula, and other original works.

As with all of our artifacts and manuscripts, authenticity and satisfaction are guaranteed.

The Old World Trader is located in Rolla, Missouri. Rolla is within an hour and a half of St Louis, Springfield, Columbia, and Jefferson City. We are only a short drive from Fort Leonard Wood.
