At The Old World Trader, we are always searching for fine gifts that compliment our other offerings. We carry a large assortment of inexpensive patron saint medals. They will soon be accompanied by a substantial collection of Greek icons and crosses, including examples in gold, silver, and hand-painted gold-leaf and tempura hagiography. Our assortment of fossils will soon become part of a natural history section. Here, you will find museum casts of fossils from prehistoric creatures and early man as well as framed insects and butterflies. The section of wooden ships and mahogany aircraft has been expanded over the last few months. The section now includes more ships, classic cars, and wood models of very early aircraft. We have recently added a section of hand-made thuya root wood boxes and desk accessories. This rare wood is found only in southern Morocco, where it is prized for its fragrance and beautiful burl grain. It is the only wood referenced in the Bible (as "Thyine"). From month to month, we do not know what we will find. But, you can be assured that it will be interesting and unique.
